Rebecca Pennington

Hey everyone,

So I'm a little late in posting this blog post. But I got married. 20th August 2016 we got married.

We got married in a small town in the north east of England to an amazing man. As you can probably see from my last blog post, We took our honeymoon at Disneyland Paris Resort with our little boy.

I am so excited to finally share our wedding pictures with you guys! We opted for a elegant wedding surrounded by our family and friends. We hope you will enjoy these shots as much as we did our big day!

So I will follow this blog post by a more in-depth blog about our whole wedding day.

Our day was everything we had ever dreamed or imagined it to be. It was filled with all the people and things that we both love. It was so much more special that we could have our son there with us. It truly was a celebration of happiness and excitement. Both Nathan and I wanted all of guests to enjoy themselves.

Hello everyone,
So here is a family update, We got a new puppy in September 2016, We had our first Christmas as family with him, He's 6 Months now and not so much a little baby puppy now. He has discovered how to go up and down the stairs and dig holes in the garden!

When I was a little girl I always have a family dog growing up so I have wanted Ellis to have the same. I have such good memories with my dog's. I had 2 Jack Russell's Sam and Stan.

We have been wanting a family dog for a while now. We wanted to be more outdoor people and go for a lot more family walk's. We took Ellis in to pets at home a few time's before we decided to get a dog. He always wanted a fish. He still goes to the fish section in the store. He was given a little gold fish from his nana, he loved it for the first day and loved feeding him. Unfortunately gold fish don't last that long so we decided a dog would be the best option for our family.

We got a little Jack Russell puppy about 4 weeks ago. We got him when he was 9 weeks old. He is called Bruno.  We took him on his first walk this morning. Ellis loved holding his lead. I am excited about all the adventures we are going to have with our little family outing. We plan on going on nature walks a lot more.

Hey everyone,

This September I started university to study BA(hons) Graphic Design. I don't think I've wrote about anything school related to me. So I'll take you back to catch you all up.
So, two summer's ago I decided I wanted to go to university, at the time I was looking in to doing Midwifery or Nursing. However along the way I ended up on the line of Design. My background has always been in the art field. Going back before I was even in primary school. I always loved to create and design characters and make things from paper. I would always make steering wheels and gearsticks and make my grandma drive me places using it. I did a Level 2 in Art and Design as part of this, there was a project involving graphic design. This was the first time I had an interest in design. Before this would have always been drawing, painting and then developing in to fashion and design. So two summers ago I looked in to going to university to do a Graphic Design degree, I found out I needed a level 3 to get in so I found an access to HE course for Art and Design, I completed that this summer. And got in to BA (Hons) Graphic Design course.

My first day at university, I was so excited to finally be where I had planned to be 2 years before that. I finally got there and can't wait to see what the future holds.

I am not just a student now, I am a mature student with a husband, child, household to run, a family. So I am excited to see how things go.

So Ellis has been in back at nursery for 5 half days a week. I was so excited to get him in to nursery even more. He has really come along a lot in nursery. He loves it aswell so that a plus.

How do you organise your time?
What do you do to help your little one get ready to go back to nursery/school?

THROWBACK THURSDAY: CHRISTMAS EDITION

Christmas 2015 was amazing, As I haven't posted about Ellis's second christmas I thought I may swell do it now to keep the memories alive. We set some new traditions and kept some old ones.

As a Present every night for the last 12 days leading up to christmas. We got a little present with a message on our doorstep. It was so lovely and so amazing. I really like this wooden nativity as well.

Me and Nathan took Ellis to see Fenwick's christmas window display. This is a new tradition and we will carry on with this until Ellis is older. I used to go and see Fenwick's window with my grandparents and parents when I was little so It's nice to keep it going with my son.

This was Ellis's Christmas Eve Basket, We have been doing this for every christmas for Ellis. We always put his little christmas plate in, his new christmas Pj's, a christmas soft toy and a christmas book.

This was our short little christmas throwback. With Christmas only 15 weeks ago it's nice to look back on last year's christmas.

See you soon

We went to Disneyland Paris for our first holiday as a family.

A week after me and Nathan got married last month we had planned and organised our first family holiday to Disneyland Paris Resort a week after the wedding. It wasn't until that week before we decided that we were going to fly to paris. We were going to take a road trip to France and set off on Thursday but we travelled on the Sunday instead.

Sitting and waiting for the Disney Magic Parade, we got front row seats and Ellis was just so excited to see the castle because we were sat right infant of the disney castle and he kept pointing at it.

We really enjoyed our first holiday together and can't wait for many more adventures to come and for us to share it with you

Here is our Disney Vlog...

Hey Everyone!
As everyone that knows Ellis all know that he just loves his books so a few weeks ago when we had the opportunity to review this fabulous book. I immediately jumped at the chance. Let's be honest how could I not and I'm so glad I did because we have had a brilliant time at story time and just during playtime with the iPad reviewing this book. I love reading time before bed with him. So this brings me to this amazing children's book "Nemo and Giraffe" by Mrs Lee Hunter.

Nemo and Giraffe is a brilliantly colored book that will just catch up eye and your little one's eye. A great go to read for anyone who loves children's books. My little boy has recently developed a love for animals so if your little ones are the same this book is perfect.

Mrs Lee Hunter's mission statement for this book is inspiring and worth some recognition. "The aim of this book and series is to help young children form positive relationships with cats and all pets and to learn how to care for them from a young age. It also strives to teach valuable life lessons including friendship and to also promote animal rights and welfare." Definitely worth having in your children library if your a animal lover.

As a design student I naturally notice the illustration in books especially in children's books. The illustrator of this book, Lindy Damen. Has a brilliant eye for bold colour and simple design that children could follow easily.

I can not fault anything about this book and I'm excited to see what is to come from this talented author and I can't want to see what's next in her vision. Would highly recommend it to all parents for they children.

It can be ordered here and I can't wait for her second book.

Be sure to check in on Mrs Lee Hunter's social media.

This book was sent to me free of charge for the purpose of this review. All views and opinions in this post are honest and my own.

Garden Time

As anyone who knows Ellis, He loves playing and having time in the garden. At any given opportunity he will be out the door in a flash to play. Which I'm sure is the same as any other toddler. I love to see him playing in the garden. He loves it.

He absolutely adores the water hose in his grandparents house. He loves watering the garden and the plants and even the dog. Poor dog.

I love this picture. He looks up to no good. Which he probably is. Ellis has discovered his little cheeky personality.

Have You Thought About Car Safety Recently?

Lately I've realised how little I think about car safety. I'm personally not a car person at all, so I'm not sure if it's just me but if you are like me and don't think about your car safety alot. Maybe this can help you?

Sometimes especially as a parent we need to be that extra bit careful. Whether it's from double checking the road before walking over with our children or always keeping a eye on them in case they are doing something they don't know is dangerous. That being said we also having the responsibility to keep a bit more careful notice on the safety of our cars and tyres when we have our children in the car taking them places.
Top 3 things to consider when thinking of car safety as a parent:

1.
Tyres;  It's important to keep an eye out for your tyre pressure and to keep them at the right pressure. Also keep an eye on your tyre tread. I would suggest Point S tyres as they have great prices, allow the convenience of checking out the complete range of tyres online, booking tyres online and get an instant quote. You can view all the other services available at Point S tyre depot too.

2.
Brakes; It's just as important to keep your brakes checked. I know as a car owner and a parent that healthy brakes are important.

3. Suspension; This is important as the shock absorbs help keep the car in contact with the road.

There is a competition for the customers that use Point S where you can get a chance to win a car! Who doesn't want to win a car!!

Hey everyone,
I haven't post a lot this past week which seems like it's been forever since I last posted. A lot has happened these last two weeks. I've made some big decisions and changes to benefit the future of my family and myself. I can't wait to share it all with you later on. Feeling like the future is bright and feeling super positive.

Anyway, where do I begin? Ellis has had a eventful week. But the best bits that have stuck out for me are. First, when we were waiting in the hospital car park for my gran to finish her meeting. I had to entertain Ellis in the car for a hour. Which by it's own was a challenge. He watched in the night garden and had his head out the window shouting for ducks. He was climbing up and down his car seat. But what makes this moment stick out is him learning how to put on his seat belt. And he was so happy with himself. It was so cute to watch and luckily I got it on video aswell. I'm always missing things on video because I always forget to get my phone out to video. And I regret it later on. One of my goals for myself is to really focus on getting more footage of Ellis.

Another thing this week that has stood out is the day we were watching peppa pig back to back. And everytime peppa came on. He would say pig pig pig. I was so cute. He loves peppa pig. We also did a sticker book that day aswell and stuck all his peppa pig stickers. And with that sticker book we got a poster, we put the poster up on the wall next to his craft table and everytime he goes past it, he always points and says pig.

With everything that goes on in life and how busy it all gets. Everything passes you by so quickly. And I made a promise to Ellis the other day that I would take the time in the busy days we have to always sit and talk to him about his day and always treasure every minute we get to be together.

So to the start of a new week and hopefully I lot more blog posts. I can't wait to see what this week brings and all the adventures that are to come.

So until then. Enjoy and come say hi to us.
